Sweet Embrace first came to be in March of 2007 when I wanted to move my personal site from Piczo to a sub-domain. The reasons behind moving were pretty self-explanatory, I hated Piczo’s pop-up’s and realised that not only would it annoy me but it would also annoy my friends and visitors. As Saffy already hosted my site, Cardcaptors Forever, I first thought about asking her to give me a bit of space in order to set up my small and petit blog, which she granted me and voila, Sweet Embrace was born!

After closing my Piczo site, I changed Sweet Embrace to a personal/blog site however now it is starting to be converted into more of a blog rather than a personal site as I now have a profile page. Sweet Embrace moved sometime last year onto my own domain, Eternal-flight. However, I would like to thank Saffy for hosting my blog for such a long time. Recently, all of my photographs, poems etc have been moved to my layout archive and portfolio, Devotion. I first intended on calling my personal site ‘Forever with Fay’ since I absolutely love the character, Fay D Flourite however I decided to stick with my Piczo site name ‘Forever Flying’ for a while. Whilst designing a layout for Morgan’s Sakura and Syaoran’s layout contest, I came up with the name ‘Sweet Embrace’ and for some reason this particular name has stuck with the site for more than a year.

Sweet Embrace, as explained above, was thought up whilst designing a layout. Not only is the name of this blog unique, but I feel that it has a good ring to it. I don’t try and fill my blog up with rants and hate and I wanted to make it feel like any visitors enjoy reading my blog.

This layout is based around an idea of a desk, with the cup of coffee and several notes lying around. I started off by learning several new techniques on Photoshop leading to the creation of the coffee cup, to the denim and finally, the notepad. Everything on this layout was actually made by me apart from the texture in the background and the 4 buttons leading to Facebook etc. As I am studying Multimedia in University, I have learnt several new techniques with Photoshop as well as the principles behind designing a website thus leading to this blog layout. This layout is called ‘Where do I begin’ and I did not use any brushes or images in this layout. I cannot remember where the texture came from and the buttons were found on Google search.
